Who We Are

Pick Up Pass provides elementary schools with free, high-quality Parent Pick-Up Tags and School Pick-Up Tags that make student dismissal safer and more efficient. Each Car Rider Hang Tag is customized with your school’s logo and name, and is available in three security options: Sequential numbering, Labeled as “Authorized Pick-Up Vehicle”, and Blank for writing in students’ names. Parents hang the durable, weather-resistant Car Rider Hang Tags from their rearview mirrors, making it easy for school staff to quickly and easily identify authorized vehicles. These highly visible tags are designed to last the entire school year and can even be used for walk-up pick-up if your school doesn’t have a car pick-up line.

We are passionate about giving back to schools by providing these Parent Pick-Up Tags and School Pick-Up Tags at no cost. For schools that currently create passes manually in the front office, switching to Pick Up Pass can save valuable time and allow staff to focus on other important tasks, especially during the busy back-to-school season.

We provide FREE car rider tags to each parent/guardian of families who opt for parent pick up at school dismissal.

Sponsorships make it possible for us to offer these Car Rider Hang Tags at no cost to your school. Your support in helping us connect with local, family-friendly sponsors ensures that we can continue providing these tags for free.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

How can we help you?

These are some of the questions we get asked the most.

Are the tags really Free?

Yes! Pick Up Pass provides car rider tags to schools at no cost. There is never a charge to the school, the district, or families.

On the rare occasion that we are unable to secure a sponsor for your school — or if your district has policies that prevent sponsored materials — your school may choose to purchase tags at below retail cost. This ensures schools who are already buying tags are able to save money and still receive professional, durable tags.

We partner with community-minded local businesses — including dentists, orthodontists, law firms, insurance agencies, and local restaurants — who sponsor the printing of the dismissal tags.

This allows us to provide high-quality, durable tags to schools at no cost, without affecting school budgets.

No — your school is not required to secure a sponsor.

Our team handles all outreach on your behalf, and we work with trusted local businesses such as dentists, orthodontists, law firms, insurance agencies, and local restaurants who participate in community-based school sponsorships.
If your school already has businesses in mind, you can list suggested sponsors directly on the request form. Sharing those suggestions can help speed up the process and increase the likelihood of securing a sponsor you already know and trust.

We partner primarily with reputable, community-focused businesses such as:

  • Orthodontists
  • Pediatric dentists
  • Family medical practices
  • Educational services
  • Insurance agencies
  • Local restaurants
  • Other child-friendly, school-appropriate businesses

Every sponsor is carefully vetted to ensure they align with school values and are appropriate for families and elementary-age students.

Yes. We regularly work with districts that have specific guidelines regarding sponsorships, branding, or tag design. If your district requires a disclaimer or has policies about what can appear on the back of the tag, we are happy to follow those requirements. Just let us know what wording or guidelines you prefer, and we’ll make sure everything is in full compliance.

We generally provide 2 tags per family at no cost to the school.
If your school has different needs or would like to request additional quantities, just reach out — we’re happy to discuss options and make sure you get what you need.

Yes! You can choose the style that works best for your dismissal system:

  • Printed Numbers (e.g., 001–500)
  • Left Blank so you can write in student names or numbers
  • Horizontal or Vertical layout depending on what your school prefers

If you have a preferred format, just let us know on the request form and we’ll make sure your tags match your needs.

Many schools use our tags for walk-up pickup as an added measure of security.

Once your school submits the Tag Request Form, we begin outreach to secure a sponsor. After a  sponsor is confirmed, we move immediately into production.

Tags are delivered prior to the start of school to ensure your team has time to distribute them to families.

If your request is submitted too close to the first day of school or during the school year, turnaround times may vary based on production schedules and sponsor availability—but we communicate with you throughout the process so you always know where things stand.

There is a form on our Schools page; fill that out and we’ll get in touch to get things rolling.

We offer two tag styles depending on your school’s needs:

  • Vertical Tags: 4″ W × 9.25″ H
  • Horizontal Tags: 8.25″ W × 5.25″ H

Both formats hang easily from the rearview mirror and are sized similarly to a handicap placard for clear visibility during dismissal.

Yes. Our tags are printed on high-quality plastic, making them weather-resistant, tear-resistant, and sturdy enough to withstand daily use throughout the entire school year.

They’re designed for repeated handling—rain, heat, cold, car visor storage—and maintain their shape and visibility all year long.

Absolutely. Logos, mascots, school colors, and district branding can be included on the front of the tag.
